What's the difference between a calendar month and a monthly unit?A Calendar Month and 4-Week Units are not necessarily equivalent in our Kindermusik Studio. Many first-time families can find this confusing. Please do not get stuck on these two terms!!! Consider the following: We do not necessarily start new units in the first week of a month. Some months have 5 weeks. Curricula is written and offered in 4-week units. We also must account for planned breaks during the School Year Session. The most important thing to remember is that there are 32 weeks of planned instruction during the School Year Session between the first week of September and May. Monthly payment dates are set up by the studio and will be shared with those of whom it affects.

My child attends a level 3, 4, or musicians class, where can I wait? The Church is generous in providing us an additional space, Room E, as a waiting room/play space between classes. Please refrain from using any other rooms at this time, as there are often other groups that are scheduled to use the facilities of which I may not be aware.

Can siblings/other children attend my enrolled child's class?Yes and no. Let me explain. *YES! When your child is enrolled in a Level 1 or 2 Class and you have a newborn/infant that is in a carrier or worn, absolutely! They are welcome to attend with their siblings at no charge. I do encourage families with little ones to wear baby or allow them to stay in their carrier and we put them up on the high counter out of reach of quick little hands or misguided instruments, just as a safety precaution. Believe it or not, they often snooze right through class! *YES AND NO! Yes, when your child is enrolled in a Level 1 or 2 Class and an older sibling has a random day off from preschool. It is typically fine for an older sibling to pop in on occasion to join us for some Kindermusik fun. PLEASE always check with me first though. There may be times when I may need you to attend a make-up class rather than bring an older child along due to space constraints. NO- It is not appropriate to bring a sibling on a weekly basis that is of close enrollable age but is not enrolled in the class. The classroom is not overly large, as such class sizes are set to provide a comfortable and safe space for those actively enrolled. *YES-Siblings of any age are always welcome for family sharing time for children enrolled in Levels 3, 4, or Musicians classes. They love to show off newly acquired skills or dance and sing with their entire family whenever an opportunity presents itself.

What door do I use to enter the building? You will enter the building using the double doors that have steps leading to them. The doors will remain locked until 5-10 minutes prior to the first class of each day. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING THE MAIN ENTRANCE.

What happens in cases of bad weather? If Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) cancels classes/after school/weekend activities for weather related reasons, Kindermusik of Lincoln will do the same and will be closed. Over the past several years, LPS has become much better about making the “call” about cancelling school the night before rather than at 6 am. However, there have been a couple of instances where that has continued to happen. A reminder of policy will go out to each affected class group FOR THE IMPACTED DAY ONLY as soon as that determination has been made. There have been occasions where a LPS cancellation had not been made (such as midday or weekends) but the weather situation had dictated that I make my own call. I do not like to cancel, however, the safety of my Kindermusik families will always be the top priority in making that decision. I know that there will always be at least one family that will have felt comfortable driving in whatever weather and will be disappointed but at the same time there are many more who appreciate just being able to stay home and safe. Trust me, it’s better to miss one music class than to be out of a vehicle or worse yet, be injured in a car accident or fall. That’s why we have make-up classes available!!!
