Studio Policies
Welcome to the Studio Policies page for Kindermusik of Lincoln! To ensure a safe, supportive, and joyful experience for all of our families, we've outlined a few important guidelines related to payment, illness, make-up classes, food and drink, footwear, and shared spaces. These policies help us maintain a consistent and welcoming environment where children can thrive musically and socially. Please take a moment to review the information below so we can continue creating magical musical moments together.
Payment Policy
All Kindermusik of Lincoln classes and camps are paid for in advance. Dependent upon the session/time of year upon which you have enrolled, payments will be collected as follows:
School Year Classes
Monthly and 4-month payments are available for School Year Classes. During the enrollment process you will have the option to choose which option is best for your family. Should you choose the monthly option, you will pay for the first month at checkout. Going forward, you agree that Kindermusik of Lincoln will continue to charge your provided form of payment for the enrolled amount once a calendar month, in advance of the next four-week unit beginning.
If you are paying monthly and choose to un-enroll, you must provide 14 days advance notice of your next scheduled payment or payment will be processed. Going forward all subsequent charges will be suspended.
Summer Camps & Classes
Payment in full at the time of enrollment is required to acquire desired seats in Summer Camps & Classes which are typically held during the months of June and July of each year. Monthly payments are not an option unless special circumstances dictate a need, and prior arrangements have been made with the studio.
Refunds
There are NO REFUNDS once payment has been received/processed. If you find that you must un-enroll after a payment has been processed, you will receive a credit in your Kindermusik of Lincoln account for any remaining weeks less an administrative fee of $25.
The credit can be used by the current child or any other child in your family. You can also use the amount of the credit to gift to a friend or family member in the form of a gift certificate, simply contact KM of Lincoln to facilitate the request.
Please note, the credited amount will expire one calendar year from date of issue, regardless of it being on account or put on a gift certificate.
Refunds are not given for missed classes due to illness or travel. We have an extremely generous make-up policy. Please see FAQs for more information.
Illness Policy
It’s respectfully requested that you refrain from attending class if you or your child are experiencing any of the following:
-
ANY/ALL confirmed communicable disease (such as Covid, Strep, Hand, Foot, Mouth, Norovirus, RSV, Influenza, etc.).
-
Vomiting or diarrhea in the last 48 hours.
-
Fever of 99.5 degrees or higher in the last 24 hours.
-
Consistent green/yellow discharge from the nose and/or eyes.
-
Persistent, croupy/phlegmy cough.
-
Mask wearing will ALWAYS be welcome at Kindermusik of Lincoln. Please mask to your comfort unless a community wide mandate would require studio wide wearing. Should that occur, notification will go out of any requirements for the studio and/or facility in general. FYI, the Facility requirements will always dictate Studio actions in this situation.
-
Lastly, if a child has a clear runny nose, or an occasional residual cough from a previous illness, I am not opposed to them attending as this can be expected. I will trust your assessment regarding when it’s an appropriate time to return to class.
Missed & Make-Up Class Policy
Parent to parent here: I believe in treating others as I want to be treated, period. Therefore, the missed class/make-up policy is born from a desire to provide what I found to be lacking in programs for my own children.
-
If you miss a class, for whatever reason, you are welcome to attend a make-up class for the level in which you are currently enrolled. The make-up does need not be within the same calendar week however they are only available while you are actively enrolled. They cannot be “banked” and used as future classes if you choose to un-enroll for whatever reason.
-
Per Studio Policies, there are no refunds for missed classes due to illness or travel.
-
You need to provide notice of your intent to attend a make-up class so that I am expecting and prepared for you. Please do so, at minimum, 24 hours in advance.
-
There are no refunds for studio cancellation of classes due to weather, teacher illness, or church functions. It doesn’t happen often, but it can/has occurred. You will be asked to find a suitable time on the current schedule to attend a make-up class.
-
I do NOT place a limit as to how often make-up classes can be utilized, I want families to feel supported in doing what is best in terms of their health and for the consideration of those in class with them. I take great pride in offering what I know to be one of the most generous and flexible make-up policies in Lincoln for early childhood programming. I know that when you feel supported and cared for, you will be returning to the classroom happy and healthy each week, learning & growing with your child!
Food & Drink In The Classroom
NO food in the classroom. If you find your child needs a snack, you are welcome to step out and provide one on the bench in the hallway. There are many children enrolled in the studio that have food sensitivities or severe allergies.
Spill and leak-proof water bottles are welcome. They should always be managed by the adult, not carried through the classroom, or kept low enough for any other child to gain access.
If a child is enrolled in a Level 3 or higher class, a spill and leak-proof water bottle is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED EACH WEEK.
Shoes In The Classroom
Everyone attending class is asked to remove their shoes outside of the classroom as all classes spend a great majority of time on the floor. Hygienically this is in everyone’s best interest but especially for the youngest students who are often just scooting or crawling. It is also requested that you wear or bring socks to wear in the classroom, as sandaled feet often pick up a lot loose dirt during the day.
Considerate Use Of Church Building & Permitted Spaces
Edenton Christian Church has been our studio home for 15 years and I love it here. I couldn’t ask for a more thoughtful or welcoming church family when it comes to me or my Kindermusik families. It is extremely important that I convey to families that you and I are in a partnership in caring for the Church during our time together each week. The Church is generous in providing us an additional space, Room E, as a waiting room/play space between classes.
-
It’s important to remember that the Church is used by multiple groups throughout the day/week and is not only a place of worship, but also a workplace. As such, PLEASE REMAIN THE EDUCATION WING where we hold our Kindermusik classes. Avoid venturing into the kitchen, fellowship hall, or hallway area past restrooms. Our classes are welcome but should never be disruptive to the day-to-day operations of the Church.
-
If you are early to class or staying to visit with other class attendees, which is always encouraged, please do so in Room E, not the hallway. Be mindful of your children as you visit and clean up any spaces and books/toys you and your child has used.
-
If you have changed a diaper, please pack it out and place it in the outside trash cans located at the east end of the parking lot as you leave. The cleaning staff only comes twice a week so a dirty diaper left out for a few days will create quite the smell!
-
There is a QR code to scan on the bulletin board in Room E to gain access to the guest WIFI.
Again, please refrain from using any other rooms at this time, as there are often other groups that are scheduled to use the facilities of which I may not be aware.
